Matisse , Monika , Onirama , Professional Sinnerz and Helena Paparizou are the nominees for "Best Greek Act" in the MTV European Music Awards .
Voting for the winner of Best Greek Act has already started through www.mtvema.com. The public will have the opportunity until Sunday the 11th of October 2009 to choose who will finally win the title. The Music Competition organized by MTV, has this years Greek nominations for the category "Best Greek Act". The winner will then represent Greece in the category of "Best European Act", in the MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 .
The awards will be broadcasted by MTV, as well as a specially designed site from 02 World Arena in Berlin, at Thursday, November 5th .
Voting results for the Greek participation, and also the winners from the rest of Europe will be announced at Monday, October 12th. All the Best Regional Acts will then compete with each other, claiming the prize Best European Act , which will result from the public voting and will be announced live during the MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 .
Last year, MTV Europe Music Awards were in Liverpool with Katy Perry as the presenter and gave us spectacular live performances from Beyonce, P!nk, The Killers, Estelle , Kanye West and Kid Rock . In 2008 more than 100 million votes were counted in all 11 categories of nominations and more than 4 million unique visitors in www.mtvema.com .
Winner in the category Best Regional Act for Greece in 2008 Awards was Stereo Mike , who also traveled with Greek MTV till the city of the Beatles to receive the award and to learn from up close the magical world of EMAs. All this reflected a 20-minute broadcast-tribute, titled «Stereo Mike @ the EMAS», where MTV's camera and our VJ Nausicaa, followed the artist in all his preparation, his arrival in Liverpool, up until the evening of the exciting Awards!
