We met Tod Ashley a.k.a. Tod A. in the late '80s with Cop Shoot Cop while after their dissolution in 1996 he formed Firewater. In 2005, after divorcing his wife and disillusioned by George W. Bush's America, he decided to launch an intercontinental journey of discovery, passing through countries such as Thailand, India and Pakistan.
"I became so depressed that the idea of sitting under a palm tree far, far away from George Bush became more appealing. So I put everything in storage and left. "( New York magazine, 8/6/2008 )
The results of this trip were the blog Postcards from the other side of the world where he documented his adventures during this two year trip and of course "The Golden Hour", the album where all the musical influences from the places he visited became part of Firewater.
While promoting the album, Firewater came to our parts of the world for the first time last May in a memorable appearance at Art House in Keramikos and in a few days they will visit us again to showcase their unique mix of rock and ethnic music and this time we hope a lot more people will discover them.
On June 3rd in Athens at Gagarin 205 and June 4th in Thessaloniki at Gaia Live along with Hot Chip (one day before their appearance in Synch Festival )
