Bassist Flea of Red Hot Chilli Peppers admits that the band lost its magic when the guitarist John Frusciante left.
According to Flea,'John and I had established such a language together - if I started playing bass with John, he'd make awesome grooves that we didn't need to talk about or think about'.
The guitarist who succeeded him is a former member of Warpaint, Josh Klinghoffer, and according to Flea, he has changed significantly the dynamics of the band, while frontman Anthony Kiedis said that he feels good about the change.
Flea seems to look for the lost magic on side projects, and is already working with Damon Albarn in the band Rocketjuice And The Moon and with Thom Yorke's band Atoms For Peace.
