Music is my radar - 2001

Music is my radar continues the review of zeros and after my selections for 2000, I will deal with 2001 .  Mercury Rev released their best album. Coming from USA,three rock bands show up, mainly influenced  by the 70 's becoming really promising: the White Stripes with their third release and the Strokes and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with their debut albums. The future would turn out to be brilliant for Jack and Meg White's band, reviving the plain rock sound based on guitars and drums, but we can hardly say the same for the other two groups.

Radiohead release the very good sequel of Kid A and Damon Albarn introduces to us the comic - band , the Gorillaz Pulp , New Order and Tricky return, while Starsailor generate a relative hype in Britain. As far as electro is involved, the Australian Avalanches , and The altogether by Orbital stood out in 2001. We also became acquainted with the electronic version of tango by French - Argentine Gotan Project.

In our country, Raining Pleasure from Patras release  their third and perhaps best album, and become famous, raising contradictions when lending two of their songs in advertising spots, but opening new ways for Greek bands.

The following are played everywhere: Family affair, Something Stupid, Survivor, Turn off the light, Getting away with it, Another change, Hide you, Before you leave, Can't get you out of my head and We come one.
