We've been waiting for months to hear news for the new work of Massive Attack . We believed that the new material would be circulated within 2009. Indeed, we had given a heads up just a year ago with a related article which showed you 10 new songs they've been playing at concerts and are likely to get the new album (read more here).
The band appeared on Zane Lowe's show and presented a new piece. "Splitting the atom" will be in an EP, which Massive will release next Fall (rumored to be out in October) with the following pieces:
Splitting the Atom featuring the D, G and Horace Andy
Pray For Rain featuring Tunde Adebimpe (lead singer of TV On The Radio)
Psyche [remix] featuring Martina Topley Bird (was working with Tricky)
Bulletproof Love [remix] featuring Guy Garvey (lead singer of Elbow)
"Splitting the atom" is very interesting and has a melancholic rhythm and a melody like what we're accustomed by Massive Attack .
As for their new album, some say it will be released in January and others in February 2010. Until we see it officially, it is difficult to believe. We'll see..
