A new song presented by U2 today in their official site , which is the soundtrack of the film of Jim Sheridan "Brothers".
The song is called "Winter" and is a synthesis of the group with production of Brian Eno , Steve Lillywhite & Daniel Lanois - the team that created the "No Line on the Horizon". The "Winter" is said to be part of the new album which will be released by the U2 in early 2010. In an interview with Sean O'Hagan in the Guardian, Bono said they would release a new album with material from the recordings for "No Line on the Horizon". Probably, the album will be called "Songs of Ascent". The first single from "Songs of Ascent" is probably the "Every Breaking Wave".
As for as the "Winter" goes, I must admit that in the beginning of the song it reminded me some extent the "Viva la Vida" of Coldplay. After all the two songs have something in common:Brian Eno. "Winter" is reminiscent of the whole 80s era of the band and like all the songs in "No line on the Horizon" it has an atmospheric playing of the guitar and a very interesting finish with a choir.
About the film "Brothers", which is expected in cinemas in our country probably next week, Tobey Maguire is a Marine, ignored in Afghanistan and his brother Jake Gyllenhaal - the "black sheep" of the family - is up to protect his wife Tobey ( Natalie Portman ) and the whole family, with unpredictable consequences. The soundtrack will contain the "Bad".
