New song are releasing the remaining Smashing Pumpkins, meaning only Billy Corgan from the original composition of the group. "A Song for a Son" is entitled the first single from the new project of the band, their eighth album "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope", which will have 44 songs if you please!!!
As we have written before Billy Corgan is a great name in music and unfortunately after the first dissolution of the Pumpkins has failed to find his "feel" and write songs like "Disarm","Bullet with butterfly wings","1979"etc.
"Song about a son" has a beginning referring to "Stairway to heaven" of Zeppelin and in general enough elements from the classic psychedelic rock. I must say that I am concerned about whether Corgan leads the band into new paths. The song can be downloaded for free from the official site of Pumpkins.
All the songs in "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope" will be released as free downloads every one or two weeks, in the period ahead. Billy Corgan explains that he chose this approach because he wants people to hear the songs, before they judge. In physical media, the Pumpkins will release 11 EPs of 4 songs!!! Isn't that a different approach to promoting the music of a band!
We have much to see over the next decade. Will we still talk about complete albums then?
