The fifth album from Canadian "supergroup" was recorded in Vancouver, in Brooklyn, in Woodstock and Catskill, New York, produced by the group and Phil Palazzolo, and involved all eight members namely AC Newman, Neko Case, Dan Bejar, John Collins, Kurt Dahle, Kathryn Calder, Todd Fancey and Blaine Thurier. Nine songs from the album are composed by AC Newman and the other three by Dan Bejar.
The album has also contributions from Zach Condon from Beirut, Annie Clark of St. Vincent, Will Sheff of Okkervil River and woodwind from Dap-Kings.
