DA: FIRST OF ALL WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO HERE IN ATHENS FROM UNKLE? THE WHOLE NEW ALBUM OR MORE...

Unkle: A mixture of all of the albums

DA: I THINK THAT 'WHERE DID THE NIGHT FALL' REALLY RULES!! FOR SURE,ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS THIS YEAR, SO TELL ME SOME DETAILS ABOUT IT...

UNKLEUnkle: Well, we tried to make an album with out a concept or rule. We would write for a while and take the best bits and make a record. I think the only main issue we discussed at the beginning was that we wanted it to be more psychedelic, analog, groove based and have more of a female presence.

As it developed it grew into what became
a modern psychedelic record with a sense of both the old and new Unkle. I like also that we worked with more up and coming artists and had the feel of a community to the process that collaborated with a lot of our band members from touring as well as new artists.

DA: WHAT ABOUT 'FALLING STARS' MY FAVORITE TRACK OF THE ALBUM?

Unkle: It was one of the first tracks we wrote and we wanted to do something different with Gavin and liked the idea of an Afro Groove with a techno synth feel with classic Gavin soul.

DA: I WAS TALKING TO COLIN NEWMAN OF 'WIRE' AND JON KING OF 'GANG OF FOUR'  RECENTLY. DO YOU SEE AN INFLUENCE BY NAMES LIKE WIRE TO YOUR MUSIC?

James LavelleUnkle: I would say more from Pablo. They are important in the fabric of post punk and that is ingrained in our musical history.

DA: WAR STORIES' WAS THE ALBUM OF THE YEAR ON MY RADIO SHOW,BACK IN 2007..ANY PARTICULAR MEMORIES FROM IAN ASTBURY?

Unkle: Lots, I've known him for years and he was the reason i met Goss and that's a particularly great memory .

DA: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC MUSIC SCENE IN ENGLAND NOWADAYS?

Unkle: Great, the new Chemical Brothers album is amazing!

Thank You
