Foals are releasing their third single on September 13 from this year's excellent album "Total life forever". "Spanish Sahara" will be released in several versions (only digital for now).
In fact it was the first song presented from "Total Life Forever" and actually released in 1.000 collectibles 7' on April 17, on Record Store Day. The title of the song refers to the Spanish Sahara, which is essentially the western part of the Sahara Desert, located between Morocco and Mauritania and from 1884 until 1975 belonged to Spain.
The song has a quiet start and a melodic and faster finish. The single will have different versions of the track from Glastonbury and iTunes Festival, as well as an excellent cooperation between Foals and the London Contemporary Orchestra, which you can listen from the following official video of the song. The clip has incredible images throughout and presents the star John Philippakis (singer of Foals) wandering in the icy and snowy Sahara.
As for "Total Life Forever", along with this year's albums by Arcade Fire, MIA, Gorillaz & Vampire Weekend is among the best albums I've listened to in 2010.
