I've been listening to "Suck it and see" by Arctic Monkeys in recent days and unambiguously declare that it is one of the best albums of the year.
In 2006 they were only 20 years old and had managed to raise their debut "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" at the top of the list with the best of the year. The next two albums that followed in '07 and 2009 had a similar response. For many and for me personally it is one of the top bands in recent years.
Arctic Monkeys release "Suck it and see" in just a week (6/6) and like many bands lately, let us hear the album right now. Besides "Brick by brick" and "Reckless Serenade" that we've heard weeks ago, pay close attention to "She's Thunderstorms", that opens the album, "Black Treacle", "Don't sit down 'cause I've moved your chair", "Love is a Laserquest" (one of the quiet moments of the album) and "That's where you're wrong", which reminds me of Ride and 90s.

Here is the Saturday show of the "monkeys" on Letterman, on CBS.
