First is Paranoid Android from the Radiohead album OK Computer 1997. Bassist Greenwood, making statements about it, recalled that the initial composition of the piece included a ten-minute improvisation on the organ as ending. The recording was made in the church of St. Catherine (15th century) in the idyllic English town of Bath. Although Greenwood concludes that rather the sound of rain at the end of the song tied best, basically lacks the psychedelic madness that the organ emanated in the original recording (Was that the right decision? I think so, but sometimes I regret the lack of psychedelic, patchouli-soaked organ madness).

During composition, the band could not imagine writing something that will be declared as the best song of the last fifteen years. Greenwood admits that it was captured effortlessly and emerged as something wild and untamable, without rules and without knowing what they were doing (The song is wild and savage - something we did when we didn 't know how to do anything. There were no rules).

In prominent positions there are Arcade Fire Rebellion (Lies), Outcast with Hey Ya, Strokes with Last Nite and Killers with Mr Brightside . Here's the complete list:

1. Radiohead - 'Paranoid Android'
2. Arcade Fire - 'Rebellion (Lies)'
3. Outkast - 'Hey Ya!'
4. The Strokes - 'Last Nite'
5. The Killers - 'Mr. Brightside '
6. The White Stripes - 'Fell In Love With A Girl'

If you want to read all 150 songs, because you are dissatisfied with the outcome (so am I in great extent, as pop and dance style dominates, a lot of bands given two and three spot, while others are completely absent, with obvious predominance of mainstream over indie music), press here.
