A Catwalk Soundtrack

  I spent last weekend in AXDW, four-days of fashion at the Center of Ethniki Asfalistiki. Greece is not exactly a mecca of fashion, but as I saw, things are promising as far as new talents is concerned. Since the difference is always in the detail, the music, which in my opinion was unacceptable on most catwalks, could create the atmosphere that was missing. Actually the clarinet in addition to type Best radio bit is quite old and is an experiment that has never succeeded, let alone that it can ruin the whole show. The following list is appropriate for catwalk in your living room, stomach in, chest out, go!

The Starlight Mints - Black Champagne ( listen to it )

I apologize to the boys, because yeah, I found the piece from the soundtrack of Gossip Girl, which may be a teen soap opera, but it's true that it combines cool beats with cool outfits. Anyway our current theme is pure vanity so get over with it and let's go...

Steve Aoki - I'm in the house ( listen to it )

The coolest japenese of the '00s, has made a lot of money from the wannabe hipster crouds all over the world. And well done, as he clearly knows how to stir up his audience by speaking into the microphone every other minute!

Justice - Genesis ( listen to it )

The Vice Records is the trendsetter and Justice its pride. I guess those "slippers" from the Greek Next Top Model sucking their cheek and walking to the rhythm of the piece. The fantasy is changing, now before me Bruno does the catwalk, much better!

MIA - Bird flu ( listen to it )

If I was to choose five new women musicians with personal style, I would surely put MiA there. Among other things she's got brains, which is rare in the charts. But I do not know if I ever put anyone on top of Diamanda.

Missy Elliott-Ching - a-ling ( listen to it )

Missy is a genius and any hip hopper who does not believe so is satrap. Her productions rule, she is awesome mc without ever having stepped on  power plate. Me likey.

J Dilla - Nothing like this ( listen to it )

James Pants - We're through ( listen to it )

Another pride of Stones Throw this time happy-foolish 80's style that for some reason all the fashionistas love. I never understood the craze with the 80's, but I admit that they swing me.

Cobra killer - mund auf augen zu ( listen to it )

I hate this style, but I must admit that they are pretty chicks, well dressed and they try to break it. And I like German ....

Einstürzende Neubauten - Ende Neu ( listen to it )

..... but if I must choose a German band that will be Neubauten. I am a bit embarrassed to place  them in my dream catwalk, with the Black of Comme des Garcons, but they are gods and I am just a girl who likes music like crazy and very much fashion ... Le freak c'est chick.

NERD-Spazz ( listen to it )

Mr Pharrell is style icon, I imagine that he parties with models and his beats are the best at the end. It seems to me as though all 90's models of George Michael parade here and pass him the torch. Musical vanity is sometimes fun.
