JETHRO TULL
Monday, the 19th July 2010 - Theatre TerraVibe Park, Athens
Tuesday, July 20, 2010 - Moni Lazariston, Greece
Jethro Tull, one of the most important progressive rock bands of the last 40 years, returns to Greece for two special concerts: Monday, July 19 at the New Theatre TerraVibe Park and Tuesday, July 20 Lazariston Monastery, Thessaloniki.
In the deep green theater TerraVibe Park will awaken the legends of the forest with rock-folk progressive melodies, always accompanied by the most "heavy metal" flute of the world, played by Ian Anderson. Maximum songwriter and "charmer", was the first musician who added flute to a rock band. Along with Martin Barre who remains the key guitarist almost from the creation of Jethro Tull and talented musicians such as David Goodier on bass, John O'Hara on piano and accordion and veteran drummer Doane Perry, are coming to Greece to impress the Greek audiences once again.
With over 60 million albums worldwide sales, Jethro Tull were pioneers, since they were the first to use classical instruments in rock songs. Jethro Tull in their compositions have expanded the boundaries of rock with long compositions, complex rhythms and influences from classical music, jazz and ethnic.
Throughout their careers they have experimented with heavy metal, folk and electronic music as they did in 2005, when they worked with New Philharmonic Frankfurt, on covers of their classical pieces.
The experimenters, the innovators, the leaders of the progressive rock Jethro Tull will offer two separate musical experiences, to those that will be on Monday, July 19 at the New Theatre TerraVibe Park in Athens and Thessaloniki Monastery Lazariston Tuesday, July 20, which undoubtedly will be the most important highlights of this year's summer concerts.
