Craig Walker has a special connection with Greek fans for many years. He is coming back with a new band after the acclaimed Archive and today is writing about it. I am really glad for the good news and I hope we can soon enjoy his new music live.
I met Terry F. for the first time last year at a Lady Gaga concert in Paris. After 5 minutes of watching the show we retired to a nearby bar and decided we could make better music than the pink stilettoed drama queen. We decided the only thing for it was to form our own band with the simple motto ‘to be better than Gaga’.
We stood at the bar toasting the inception of our new and as yet nameless band and heard a beautiful and very unique female voice coming from the back of the room. We arched our heads to see who was making these beautiful sounds and that is how we found S.Armelle. Playing piano Bach-like alongside her was Damien Li. When they finished their set we approached them to offer congratulations for a wonderful carousel of songs. More drinks were ordered. The mood was intoxicating and giddy. Within 10 minutes of talking to our two new friends myself and Terry F. knew that we had found the final components for our brand new band.We nervously asked if they would join our band and thankfully they both agreed!
A bottle of champagne appeared and before popping it open Terry F. stood up on the table and asked everyone in the bar to be quiet. He had a very important announcement to make. Having only known Terry F. for less than an hour I was as surprised as anyone by his sudden leap. The bar fell silent and everyone stood open mouthed staring up at Terry F. Off the top of his head he proclaimed “We shall henceforth be known as MINERAL“. The bar broke out in spontaneous applause. People whistled and whooped at the announcement of the birth of the band. Terry F. popped open the champagne and toasted the whole room before drinking straight from the bottle. It was quite a night for us all.
