Radiohead, after the show Saturday Night Live, appeared in Colbert Report, where presenter Stephen Colbert made a kind of interrogation in the usual irritating humor of American journalists. Starting with the release of the album In Rainbows in 2007 without a record deal, Colbert asked them if they made more money that way. Thom Yorke, turning to the other band members wondered 'what is the official answer for this question' and guitarist Ed O'Brien had to say 'sold fewer records, but made more money'.
Continuing with his cold humor, accompanied by known can-laughs, the presenter concluded that if they made more money, the motive was greed, and he finds that fully respectable. Naturally, Yorke tried to refuse, but between can-laughs and the indictment of Colbert it was obvious that Radiohead were the only ones who felt uncomfortable and wanted to flee directly to their music and start the show.
