The British music magazine Q has established its own awards ceremony which was held in London on October 24. The list of winners (some expected, others not so) follows:
- Young Artist: Ed Sheeran
- classical composers according to Q: Gary Barlow
- Best song according to Q: Adele-Rolling In The Deep
- Biggest innovation in sound: Kaiser chiefs (remember the campaign for their latest album, 'Make yourself the mp3 albums')
- Inspiration for Q: Fat boy slim
- Next big thing : Lana del Rey (we place much hope on this new presence and I think deservedly)
- The best video according to Q: Jessie J'-Do It Like A Dude
- Best album: Bon Iver-Bon Iver (because even indie folk has its mainstream expression)
- Best live band: Biffy Clyro (once again ...)
- Classic song according to Q: Snow Patrol-Chasing Cars (not classic per say, but memorable)
- Q Icon: Noel Gallagher (with prize in the pocket, he is at the top of British charts for the solo album)
- Q Male Artist: Tinie Tempah
- Q Female artist: Adele
- Q award for overall contribution to music: Siouxsie Sioux
- Best band in the world today: Coldplay (probably disagree ... at least it is a very good commercial band of alternative to pop music)
- Hall Of Fame: Queen
- Best band of the last 25 years: U2
