Happy New Year to everyone. The column, and after the decade review , will stand once again up to the occasion and respecting the call  of the magazine will show you the options for 2009. The choice as you can see was difficult and the final form reflects only the feeling of the moment and always the final  set  is being revised with the headphones on as you will listen to albums you have not heard "on time". Before we start to mention some technical details. In the championship ...of manufacturers the informal title of the champion gets after a hard battle with Domino my favorite Warp thanks to the assistance that came from the bench, that the album Totems Flare and Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio Age of Clark and Broadcast And The Focus Group respectively, which you will see in the final list. In addition to the 20 below, electronica and the offshoots dominate with 15 entries, compared with only 5 of the traditional rock sound, but this occupies the first 2 positions.

Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue (Warp)

The Ambivalence Avenue sounds more like a collection rather than a normal album, there is aesthetic relevance of the tracks, but
none in the style reminiscent of another album. The impressive variety of the album coupled with an unexpected coherence, while constant change of style, prevents the sound from being boring. The recklessly Smart Wilkinson knits one musical form after another, with evident ease the electronica with folk and the funk to experimental hip-hop while seemingly contrasting musical genres in reality unites them into one. Bibio comes strongly and with dedication to capture the delicate moment between sleep and awake, between dream and reality, this valuable and ambivalent time.

Telepathe - Dance Mother (Senior Taxi)

Melodic, but heavy-and often -unbarebal keys, splendid and sexy the vocals, feeling dance
up to disco, the climate makes David Sitek by TV On The Radio in all respects an excellent production, which wins the impressions.

Felizol - Birthdays (Puzzlemusik)

In one of this year's most beautiful songs (Lemonpie), one of the best covers of this year ( Kiss ),
major holdings (Savina Yannatou, Madame Bouche, Dr. Hector, The Boy, Sportex), enough introspection, full of inspiration and talent, it takes rightfully the title of most interesting Greek album of 2009.

Mokira - Persona (Type)

The Swedish in origin Andreas Tilliander, the ambient album of the year, approaching hypnotized
sluggishly and the silence of organizations primarily analog and influences clearly kraut . With full support.

Dan Deacon - Bromst (Carpark Records)

Layered, playful, conductor and the exuberant Dan, has managed to build a unique party that we have not heard anything similar from any other this year and
in this time that everyone seem to copy everybody else, is itself a huge success.

The Black Heart Procession - Six (Temporary Residence)

In our country, surprisingly, they do not enjoy the acceptance expected and will not gain it this year with Six .
The spacious melodrama, the irresistible buttons and discreet theatricality, we were flooded again with the soothing melancholy.

Junior Boys - Begone Dull Care (Domino)

What made them dear (or hateful, or indifferent, or whatever) is present at this year's third step, the melancholy vocals, cold synthesizer is still in place. I have the feeling that it is the most introspective and bright album of their career.

10-20 - 10-20 (Highpoint Lowlife)

The urban mysterious universe of this mate from Devon, England is a cheerless and toxic poisoned world and yes, you guessed correctly, so is the
debut cd, a delightful mix dubstep.

Memory Tapes - Seek Magic (Rough Trade)

Refuses to adhere to established pop, dance and electro structures. Arranges to enrich with mastery of the music using everyday sounds with impressive result. Barking dog, the sound of rain bird tweets, a very characteristic sound that leaves the
sneakers and basketball on the court, etc., sounds not
readily apparent, and throughout the course of the album is
usually discreet and subtle, but recognizable. Hawk
cover it with the mastery of the keys and takes a drive so
bright, which shines through even on any little imperfections
.

Lord Newborn And The Magic Skulls - Lord Newborn And The Magic Skulls ( Ubiquity )

The triple collaboration of the year.
Money Mark, Shawn Lee, and Tommy Guerrero, joining forces and the result is excellent. The give and take of the three is symmetrical, Mark the words in funky keys, the Shawn on drums and Tommy on
bass and on killing guitars.

Kryptic Minds - One Of Us ( Swamp 81 )

The best antidote to this year's
absence of Burial is One Of Us, the London duo to leaves on the side for a while their favorite drum'n'bass and reforms in
dark, gloomy and eerie dubstep.

The Flaming Lips - Embryonic ( Warner Bros )

The highest bid of Embryonic
is the opportunity it gives us to capture the grandeur of a
capricious genius, the consciousness that they can write music
affordable, but the limits of affordability and how far from the relative
Security of the previous album, to reconstruct the past and
release freely their ideas.

Sore Eros - Second Chants ( Shdwply Records )

The feeling that accrues when you hear the Second Chants is
bittersweet, at times the atmosphere in suspension in the Room
listening to the disc is suffocating, almost suffocating, brightened
the strange wind, noise distortion, nearly
whispers and hypnotic vocals, the gloomy guitars, as great
deformed In My Heart and The Dream Self to hear them, there are
moments when you think you will drown, but some other times
revealed a sweet emotional introspection, a redemptive dizziness
that extends to the area and nails you down, such as Whisper Me this
sunny, exquisite melody.

Belbury Poly - From An Ancient Star (Ghost Box)

Continue after the The Willows
(2004) and The Owl's Map (2006) to extend the reference to the
retro sound of the '70s, presenting a magnificent album
as a reward to the accessible tone and the dark of the innocent,
causes memory and above all, not nostalgic but uses
musical past as a context for the present.

Ben Frost - By The Throat (Bedroom Community)

Film aesthetic horror
placing a claustrophobic and relentless grid, a violent, bleak,
almost hostile construction.

The Field - Yesterday And Today (Kompakt)

Heavy's legacy, rather
insurmountable, From Here We Go Sublime two years back to 2007,
important here is the certification of dreamy and cloudy
style as a trademark now, evidence of sustained good form
and the incredible cover version of Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime of
Korgis, I never thought that the one of Beck would be overcome and even more so soon.

Mordant Μusic - Symptoms (Mordant Music)

Uncategorized masterpiece. Or, better, how the Underworld would be  if they were a little more dark...

Shackleton - Three EPs (Perlon)

Dark, gloomy but at the same time refreshing, with typical oriental smell of
sepsis and the trademark percussion, complex and hard to climb, will not perhaps occupy us for the first time, no stage no club , but it will find the way to our headphones.

Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest (Warp)

Slowly burning charm and
deliberately sluggish flow, the brightness of the concrete is still
discretionary and the elusive signs and requires therefore our commitment, but not scare anyone in the end to compensate generous and shows you the magnificence of the stimulant.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion (Domino)

The passing from at-times-obscure profound attitude to-misleading-naive optimism, the inexhaustible experimental trends in the seemingly conventional (or maybe not?) pop of Merriweather Post Pavilion, is so impressive, the style of the group seems to be fundamentally reviewed, or is it simply the natural evolution of people swaying to thirty years old;?-- remains to be seen.

The" Sto Paratsak "List

The XX and the homonymous debut, the corresponding "Love Comes Close" of Cold Cave, the excellent "Primary Colours" of The Horrors, and the " Get Color " in and Health "Balf Quarry" of Magik Markers .

I also have not had a chance to hear enough to be able to sort, but have left me with the best impression the  "Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio Age" by Broadcast And The Focus Group, the "Waiting For You" of King Midas Sound, the "The Africa Chamber" of Mapstation and "Rated O" of Oneida.
Special mention to the grand "Sadly, The Future Is No Longer What It Was" the Leyland Kirby (aka The Caretaker), magnificent music and as time goes, no less , 4 hours and is hard to manage with the usual conditions.
