Who is Peter Hook:
Come on now .. . One of the major figures who emerged from Great Britain's scene
and particularly Manchester over the last 30 years: founding member of Joy Division (1977) with his bass 'leading' a significant number of chants for the melancholic children of the 80's, inspired New Order with whom he experienced global success, flirted with the lighter side of pop with Monaco, joined techno and hard rock with Revenge and these days he's been in the making of a brand new project which will
cause a sensation, staring 3 bass players (!), with the name Freebass and composed by him and Andy Rourke (The Smiths), Gary "Mani" Mounfield (The Stone Roses, Primal Scream).
Peter Hook has to show a successful career as one of the most brilliant rock djs in the United Kingdom, while having written a glorious history on the decks of great clubs. Prominent among them the legendary Hacienda, the most important club in the history of Manchester and ideal housing for the most innovative projects that could happen in Britain for 15 years. Co-founder and co-owner of the Hacienda, Hook wrote the great book The Hacienda - How Not To Run A Club , which was just released earlier this winter and has become a fast-seller, closing in its bowels the myths of an era...
If you want to book tickets for this event (Rodeo isn't big - you know that), call at 210-8814702 or send e-mail in alterground@aol.com
Admission is 15 euros for all (25% discount for military, students and unemployed - I do not think you have seen it somewhere else! Bravo!)
