Yesterday evening the Foo Fighetrs played a "secret" concert (secret gig), during which they presented some of their new songs from their upcoming album, expected in 2011. During the concert the band held a big surprise, as we read in Spin and Hollywood Reporter.
Members of Nirvana alive (all but Kurt Cobain), ie Dave Grohl who is one of the Foo Fighters, Krist Novoselic and guitarist who played on tour with them and Pat Smear were found on the same stage for the first time since 1997! The song chosen to play was "Marigold", which was written and sung by Dave Grohl and was released as a b-side to single "Heart Shaped Box". Listen to the song following an earlier performance by the Foo Fighters.
It's also worth noting that Krist Novoselic will work with Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters at the band's new album (produced by Butch Vig).
Beyond "Marigold", the Foo Fighters played some new songs like "Dear Rosemary", "White Limo "and" Back and Forth". See above script setlist. It's definitely different than we're used to seeing ...
