Although the break up of REM., has been announced officially, a rare material turns back time, to April 1985 when it all started. A rather avid fan of the band was in possession of one of the first 400 tapes recorded in the Drive-In Studio in Winston-Salem to send them to labels, venues and journalists. The owner of the material decided to sell it to the general public, bringing the link to music blog 'The power of independent trucking'.
In this tape was recorded in duplicate the songs Radio free Europe, Sitting still and White tornado which eventually gave them the opportunity to sign their first record deal, with Hib-Tone Records.
