I heard it under all circumstances, in the subway, walking in the city, running in the park, lying on the beach overlooking the Aegean sea, watering the flowers in the sunlight, dusk and midnight. So at any time I did not understand why this cd has received such glorious reviews. This exactly the main reason why this review has been delayed, I tried to convince myself that there must be something wrong with me, I'm not in right mood, I do not understand, so I listened and listened again. Really I did.
It has 2 great songs, Perth and Calgary, the sound of Bon Iver (ok Justin Vernon) became richer, more electrical at points and definitely more electronic, but remains in the style of those we knew. That is deeply emotional songs, with the voice of Justin in the foreground, slow nonchalantly, songs that speak of love affairs he has lived or other fantastic romances, with titles from city-states of America.
Just this time is more extroverted, the arrangements are not stripped as the debut "For Emma, Forever Ago", he is not alone, has a band, all a little more. Apart from the soul, I think he has given less.
The fact that I do not understand the review out there, does not mean that it is not a good cd, but that's all. It is though possible to be bored to death or to fall asleep.
Songs to be heard out are already mentioned and just enough to take with you, the rest you can surpass.
